IMPORTANT AMENDMENTS TO ACF Breeding & Registration Rules
At its July 2025 meeting the Australian Cat Federation Inc (ACF) agreed to make the following amendments to some rules. Please note, as an affiliate of ACF, Queensland Feline Association Inc (QFA) is required to ensure its breeders comply with these rules.
If you are planning on importing breeding cats it is important to be aware of amendments 1.8, 1.8.2.4 & 1.8.3.

1.8 Importing Cats
1.8.2.4. No cat is to be imported for breeding if it returns positive DNA test results for currently known diseases of that breed.
1.8.3. Breeders importing a cat should initially check the pedigree with their Member or Provisional Member Body before importation to ensure the cat can be registered under ACF (Inc.) Breeding and Registration Rules. It must be DNA tested and confirmed to be free of genetic diseases and unregisterable characteristics that may impact the cat's health & welfare
If you have white breeding cats please note the following amendment to Rule 1.11.3 - this refers to pure white cats only (not Bi-colour or Van cats).
1.11.3 No - White to White matings are allowed in any breed to reduce chance of deafness from 22 January 2026
